We had it “on tape” when I was little (oh the days of recording movies off of tv) and watched it over and over again, commercial breaks and all 😁. I bet it was epic in the theater.
I watched so many movies recorded off the TV! One of my favorites was Airplane. Not for many years did I know about all the really "naughty" parts that had been cut for the TV version!
😁 The first time I showed my children “Grease,” we had to shut it off early on because I didn’t EVER see the original version as kid, just the TV version…
The opening image of Tevye dancing on the roof!!
The ending is also a delight.
Thank you, Melanie!!
Oh, that's lovely. And I am such a sucker for anyone referencing "Fiddler on the Roof." :)
It was one of the first movies I saw in a theater as a kid!

I don't think I've ever seen the original, either!
I love how this one turns.
Thank you, Megan!
I just love where this lands.
Thank you, friend!
Holy bananas, that turn at the last stanza! I love this poem and also raccoons.
"Don't you know, my dear masked ones
scratching and chomping
through the architecture of my heart"
Thank you, Rebecca! I definitely learned more about raccoons as a result of writing this. The babies are ridiculously adorable.
My favorite line is “You can make your nest in my heart anytime “.
