I should have done it a long time ago, when they shipped a single mustard seed wrapped in seven layers of plastic inside a box big enough for a cedar of Lebanon, or when they delivered my chisel and plane, again, to the wrong carpenter’s shop with a brazen doorstep photo to prove it. I managed to live a literal eternity without one-clicking my way through every tunic, millstone, and wine cask, and, verily, I can do it again. There is something so freeing about buying locally sourced sparrows: looking the shopkeeper in the eye as we nod and brush hands.
I love this, Tania! I have a thread of Jesus poems, micro-fiction or prose poems, really, where I have coffee and conversation with Jesus. This is first person, though, a different take on bringing the figure into the 21st century. Thank you!
This is the second poem of yours that I’ve seen (the first was the Elon one), and I’ve loved both so much that I finally started a substack JUST to follow you. I considered it for a thousand other people but never relented until now. Will be doing a deep dive on all your past writing now.
I love this so much it physically hurts. I own a a handmade gift shop and I promote locally made items and artwork so this REALLY hits home! Thanks for posting it!!

Thank you so much, Carol! Are your Jesus writings here on Substack? I would love to read them!
I'm @carolpoetmikoda.
Yes, some are. At The Yellow Table. How do I share that with you?
You can send me a link, or I can try to find them!
This was awesome. Loved it.
